Searching the self-help area of a bookstore, Gary discovered Elan Golomb's book Trapped in the Mirror. A powerful narrative on narcissism, Elan Golomb’s book had a profound influence on his life. While writing her second book, Unloved Again, Elan learned through a patient that her first book had deeply affected Gary. Learning that Gary was making portraits, Ms Golomb contacted Gary to create a portrait for the back cover of her second book that was nearing completion. Golkin was honored to be able to express his gratitude to Ms Golomb in this manner..
